Icebox was approached by two clients to assist with carrying the ice theme through from the movie to the premiere party. This was achieved in two primary ways.

Firstly, to accentuate the icy feel, Icebox constructed a 15m wall, which separated the VIP area from the rest of the marquee. The wall was erected on staging 1.5m above ground level and extended a further 2.5m in height. A large circular bar was dressed with an ice serving counter complete with clusters of ice stalagmites. The central feature in the middle of the bar was a 2.5m cone of ice and suspended 5m above this was a giant chandelier with each “crystal” made of ice.  To marry the atmosphere with the catering, 8 food stations were dressed in ice. Giant clusters of stalagmites adorned each station, while food was served on actual trays of ice.

A 40-foot freezer trailer was hired to transport all the ice to the venue. Working to a tight build schedule a team of 12 skilled personnel were used to build all the ice features. With several tons of ice at the venue, a team of 3 were left at the venue to look after all drainage aspects.

The overall impact and effect was outstanding with our client wishing they had chosen more ice features…!
