Ground-breaking 17-person ice sculpture #PeopleTogether comes to Covent Garden

On Monday 19th July the icebox will be installing an incredible one-of-a-kind ice sculpture at one of London’s famous meeting points, Covent Garden. Featuring life-size characters of varying ages and different walks of life, the sculpture is a representation of people returning to normal and will commemorate the easing of restrictions in England.

#PeopleTogether is a one-day interactive installation for the public. Sculpted by our Head 3D Ice Sculptor Csaba Vass, it is 10 metres in length, contains 8,840 litres of purified water (equivalent to 89 bathtubs) and is made from 117 individual pieces. (On setup alone it has 61 pieces to it). It took two weeks to create using 3D digital design and four weeks for Vass to carve.

Covent Garden is focused on making London more sustainable so will be using the melted ice from the installation to water its plants and greenery across the estate.

It can be admired from 10am-2pm at the North Piazza in front of the Chanel store in Covent Garden WC2E 8RA.
