Description:

LAB Culture, on behalf of the Hepatitis C Trust asked Icebox to design a HEP C ‘blood’ ice sculpture to publicly raise awareness of the blood borne virus.  The blood red ice sculpture was commissioned to provide initial impact to consumers with the intention for it to then slowly melt throughout the day ‘symbolising the elimination of HCV’ whilst providing an opportunity for Trust Advisers to talk to passers by about the risk factors for HCV.

“I can’t thank Icebox enough for helping us deliver a successful disease awareness campaign, with an ironic objective…  we needed the ice to melt! The blood red melting ice was set up in St David’s Shopping Centre to symbolise the elimination of Hepatitis C from Cardiff. With a very chilly early morning start (2.45am @ -1C), the set up was seamless and fun, and once the centre was open the installation received a lot of attention from the public and news crews. We had very happy clients, and the charities involved were delighted with the awareness that the event was generating for Hep C”.   Lucy Danton Rees from Lab Culture
